1. Who we are

This website and the BrandsHalo website and our apps are operated by Brands Halo LLC ("BrandsHalo", "we", "us", or "our"), a limited liability company registered in the United States. Our registered business address and contact details are published on our contact page.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information — name, email address, and where applicable a business name and telephone number.
  • Billing information — processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store complete payment card numbers on our systems.
  • Content you create in our apps — journal entries, notes, prayers, highlights, saved verses, reading progress, and messages you send to in-app chat.
  • Correspondence — the contents of emails and support requests you send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages viewed, features used, and actions taken within the platform.
  • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and referring URL.
  • Diagnostic data — error reports and performance metrics used to identify and fix faults.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and improve our websites and apps;
  • sync your reading progress, journal, and settings across your devices;
  • authenticate you and secure your account;
  • process payments and maintain financial records;
  • respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
  • send service announcements, security alerts, and administrative messages;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

4. Sharing your information

We disclose personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, error monitoring, and AI model providers. They may process personal information only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements — where we are required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • Protection of rights — where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BrandsHalo, our customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to the acquirer honouring the commitments in this policy.

5. Your content and AI processing

Some features, such as in-app chat and generated devotional content, send the relevant text to third-party artificial intelligence providers acting as our processors. We select providers that contractually commit not to use customer content to train their general-purpose models. Private content such as journal entries and prayers is not used to train any model.

You retain all rights in the content you create. We claim no ownership of your journal entries, notes, or prayers, and we do not sell or share them.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as necessary afterwards to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.

7. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Residents of California may additionally have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under that Act, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@brandshalo.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your display preferences such as light or dark mode, and secure the service. We use a limited amount of privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

10. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where personal information is transferred out of your jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law.

11. Children's privacy

BrandsHalo is a business product and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
